But before I get into all that, Let me tell you a little about SEO.
SEO as you all know it “Search Engine Optimisation”, is the process of getting ‘organic’ traffic which is absolutely ‘free’ through search engines. Google, Bing, and Yahoo being the traditional search engines have also been accompanied by YouTube and Pinterest which works wonders to drive heavy traffic.
SEO is not a tool but a technique that can be perfected only by perfect practice. As all these search engines keep messing up with their algorithms every now and then. And it is obviously easier said than done. It takes blood and sweat to master SEO.
But, once you have mastered it, all the search engines will bring tons of traffic to your Blog/Website.
Sounds amazing right?
So let’s get started without further ado.
Hack #1: Evergreen Content
As the name suggests, Evergreen content is something that will never change or something which can be updated with time.
Now being a Physics student let me show off a bit with my knowledge and give you a clean example.
Suppose if I start blogging about a Physics, which I actually do 😉 and I write an article about the Structure of an Atom. Now, this is something that will be used by a 5th or 6th-grade student every year.
So there is no need for me to update my content until the theory has been proven wrong.
Another fantastic example would be Blogging about food Recipes.
The best part about Recipe blogs is that you don’t have an age or gender barrier. A 15-year-old Boy/Girl, who is just learning to cook, can read your articles. Also, a 60-year-old can also visit your blog for some new recipes.
So, as we discussed now, Evergreen content can be referred again and again which will bring you more page views and also with good SEO, Unique visitors.
Hack 2: YouTube
YouTube is Worlds second largest Search Engine with over 1.3 billion users… and all of them have a different purpose. Some use it for music, some for learning, and others for entertainment.
If you can make quality videos in your niche and rank them high for their keyword. This will drive good traffic to your blog or website.
How to optimize youtube videos?
- Title: Include your targeted keyword in the title
- Tags: Use tags as an advantage to boost your video rankings.
- Description: Don’t forget to mention your keyword in both your video description and channel description
- Transcription: provide a transcript for better search results.
- Annotations and Cards: Influence people and use them to drive traffic to your Blog.
- Backlink: Leave a URL of a relevant blog post in your video description. This will not only drive traffic but also give a backlink to boost your search results.
- Social Shares: The number of people your video reaches is directly proportional to the search results of both your video and your blog.
And Don’t forget, Web pages with videos are ranked way higher than those without them.
Hack 3: TF-IDF
TF (Term Frequency) and IDF (Inverse Document Frequency) are the two statistical ways to check the authority of a keyword in an article or a corpus. If a keyword appears more times in an article, it is supposed to be important. But it has to be balanced by the number of times it appears in the corpus
TF or Term Frequency can also be called as keyword Density. It is not at all difficult to calculate it.
Formula, TF = (keyword appearance/total no. of words) x 100%
How does it work?
Suppose, we have a keyword “Cow” which appears 15 times in a thousand-word article.
So, TF = (15/1000) x 100%
IDF or Inverse Document Frequency is the number of times the keyword appears in the whole collection of documents.
Now, the keyword “cow” is appearing in 500 documents out of 1000 documents. So if we want to calculate IDF:
Formula, IDF = Log(No. of Documents/ Total no. of documents)
i.e. IDF = Log(1000/500)
i.e. IDF = Log(2)
Therefore, IDF = 0.3
And when we take a product of TF and IDF, the resultant is inversely proportional to the relevance of the keyword. So if TF*IDF is high, the relevance of the keyword is low.
In our case, 1.5 x 0.3 = 0.45% which is quite low. So, it clearly indicates that our keyword holds value.
Note: Don’t stuff the articles with your keyword.
Hack 4: Compressed Images
Now, this is quite simple because, the greater the image, the more time it will take for search engines to open your site. The more time is taken by the search engines, the fewer search results.
Which will lead to a downfall of your SEO empire?
Use compressed images which will make it easy for search engines to access your site.
What should you take from this point?
Speed is King!
Hack 5: Click-Through Rate
Even if you pull out some under the table trick to rank your content high on the search engine, If the visitors aren’t clicking on your link, search engines will consider your content to be irrelevant to the keyword. And hence decreasing your position in the rankings.
Also, even if the visitors click on your link, get to your website and leave without spending much time, will leave a bad impression on search engines and will also increase your Bounce rate.
Which will ultimately decrease your ranking?
Hack 6: Backlinks
Last but not only the Least but the Beast. Yeah, this is the Father of all Hacks!
Backlinks from an authority site will give you a boost which will take you to the moon.
There are tons of ways to make backlinks but be dead careful as search engines have now become strict than ever in terms of backlinks.
Search Engines prefer Quality over Quantity. This simply means that even a single backlink from a good website will rank you way better than those 10000 spammy backlinks ever will.
Apart from a Niche website, which also works best for creating backlinks are websites like Quora and Pinterest with every Re-pin your content will get a healthy SEO boost from the search engine.

It is best when your content comes naturally. Instead of thinking about keyword, backlink, ranking and all other jibber-jabber, focus on what your targeted audience wants and once you do that, you will automatically be ranked higher by the search engines.
